Instructions For The Shock Wave Cut Bait Head

The Shock Wave® is designed to troll with regular or tyee sized herring strips and has a rotating action. Best speed is between 1.5-2.8 mph, but experiment. The lure can be a highly productive piece of tackle on lake trout, brown trout, steelhead, coho, kings, and other species. It is used to fish on the great lakes, in-land lakes, reservoirs
and oceans.

How to use: You will notice 3 holes on top side of the head (diagram B)  Unsnap top cover, run your line through first hole from nose of bait, run the line back out the second hole, now run the line back through the third hole. Pull the line out about 8 inches, tie on recommended hook size #1 or #2 treble hook or #2/0 single hook. Recommended
leader size without a fish attractor, 15# - 25# test; when using a fish attractor such as The Revelator® use 20# - 30# test; experiment. When using flashers or dodgers we recommend a 42” - 60” leader between Shock Wave® and attractor, but hey, experiment. The Shock Wave® revolves so it must be fished with a high quality ball bearing swivel.

Inserting herring strips:  Herring strip must be completely thawed before use. Just unsnap the head (diagram A.), lay herring strip (diagram D) all the way to the nose of the head and simply snap the head together, the pin will penetrate the herring strip to keep it in place. You will notice a slit (diagram C) to the back of the lure, insert the line down in the slit, pull the leader from the head of the lure if the hook end needs to be shorter. If the hook leader needs to be longer simply hold the head and pull the hook
end out to desired length. For best results run the hook about ˝” in from the tail end of the herring strip. For a tighter rotation just bend the tail section of the lure slightly outward, away from the herring strip.
