Church Planer Boards are the easiest to attach onto Wire, FireLine, Leadcore, and especially Monofilment Fishing Lines with just one simple clip and pull pin operation no matter how cold your fingers or strength. One hand on one hand off with just one simple clip and pull pin, a 5 year old or solo fisherman can do it in seconds; they are also the best value for your hard earned money. When using the TX-6 mini planer board they are for light duty small weights up to a 1/2 ounce weight will not sink them even at a stand still or pause, smaller lipped crankbaits like Rapala original floaters or as large a lip as a #5 deep shad rap will not be pulled down or back out of formation, the TX-6 will pull your presentation out to the sides of your boat. Also you will be able to immediately tell if there is anything messing with your presentation. From touching weeds to small nuisance bites you will be able to better monitor your baits. Shallow clear to stained water is were these planers really shine 2 to 12 ft. of water as fish have learned to adapt to danger from above birds, ducks, hawks, eagles, herons, etc. because of their small profile both length and width they are harder for the fish to detect in shallow water and fish will not move out of the way as they do with the larger planer boards in shallow water. You have to understand Planer Boards were invented to get baits away from your boats as the fish move to the sides of your boat the planer boards presented the presentation to those fish, so when fish see something moving across the surface they get out of the way from that object, so that's why the TX-6 is the best for this presentation. You can use these planer boards even on lighter spinning gear with no problems, I like to keep my boat on the outside of a weed bed and cast my crankbait or crawler-harness with split shot to the inside edge immediately attaching the TX-6 planer board and casting that to on the inside edge, you cant do that with your larger boards. Matching the Presentation to the size board is always the best thing to do. Like the TX-12 which is slightly larger than the TX-6 but not to much, you can use slightly larger baits and weights, weights as large as 2oz. will float at a stand still or pause, and crankbaits as large lipped as a deep diving # 8 shad rap will pull out to the sides of your boat and be in formation. The Walleye Board is one of the most adjustable boards on the market today, being able to hold 4oz. weight at a stand still or pause is amazing, or being able to pull the biggest 30ft deep diver Rapala Taildancer or Reef Runner in formation out to the sides of the boat. If you notice that the weight or your deep diving lure is causing the catamaran front end to be pulled up out of the water simply slide the adjustable keel weight forward making the front of the board catch water and maintain maximum pull to the sides of the boat. The TX-22, the newest and only yellow board Church makes is a real work horse pulling most presentations in formation way out to the sides of your boat. The strike indicator flags are a must for The Walleye Board and TX-22 as hard pulling as they are small things such as small fish 3 inches to 8 inches and small strings of weeds can sometimes go undetected unless you use the strike indicator flags which keeps you aware of your bait presentation at all times. Tricks that keep you catching fish are speeding up and slowing back down, turning causes one side to speed up while the other side slows down harder the turn’s means faster movements on the outside boards and maybe even pauses on inside boards. Playing with your rods picking them out of the rod holders pulling on them and putting them back is also changing the action and creating a strike if a fish just happens to be trailing your presentation or is close by. Give these boards a try using some of the insight that I've given you and I will be waiting to hear how much more action you had this year. Good luck fishing.
