August 2012: We love hearing from our customers, especially those who are new to our products. Here is what Scott M. from Maine wrote to us:

"I was introduced to the Church Tackle Walleye Board by a Maine guide while on a trip to northern Maine. I recently purchased the Walleye Boards, the TX-22, and two sets of the TX-6's. I went from catching 8 to 10 rainbows per trip to having a 31 fish day on Monday of this week, then an 18 fish day on Wednesday. Thanks for a awesome product, and you should be getting a lot of orders from Maine and New Hampshire because the word is
out about your boards. Thanks again, Scott M."

March 2012: I got back from my trip to the Bahamas and thought I would send you, what could be the largest fish taken using the new TX-44’s!  58lb Grouper pulling a Mann’s Stretch 30+ at 5.5mph.  Rough sees gave me fits most of the trip, but we had a calmer day when I was able to use the boards.  They are pulling a diving bait that is larger than the board, but they still worked great even at those higher speeds.  Not the greatest picture, but things were kind of crazy at the time, so I didn’t get the pictures that I wanted.  Going back in April and I will get better photos this next trip for you. Thanks Again! Jeff Manz

February 2012: Thanks Jim LaFortune for emailing this awesome picture of this HUGE Brown Trout!

To quote Jim: "TX-6 Church boards +Reef Runner Baits+ Lucky hat = Big Brown"

September 2011: Captain Bob Stevens emailed us these great photo's and story of the 42 LB King he caught!

"We were using the chartreuse Revelator with glow tape on both sides, a A-TOM-MIK proam live fly Dipsey back 110 on a 3 setting. The fish fought for about 40 min and made an initial run of 420 feet it made several smaller runs as well. It barely fit in my net and was very hard to hoist over the transom. When I saw it I couldn't believe the size. It was no doubt the biggest I ever caught in my 23 years as Captain. Thanks so much for the awesome products that help me with my successful fishing!"

April 2011: Congrats to Elmer Rudlaff, Coho Bob Lausman, and Randy Wells!!!!

Capt. Elmer Rudlaff, Coho Bob Lausman and Randy Wells captured their 1st Brown Blast Tournament victory on Saturday, April 9th.  They weighed in a 5 man DNR limit totaling 37 lbs and consisting of 3 Lakers and 2 Coho.

The Brown Blast, a Michigan Sportsman forum based tournament, was held at the port of St. Joe.  32 teams searched for brown trout to gain an extra 5 points per brown.

Trigger, Rudlaff's 20 ft Lund made a 40 minute run on a flat sea to search for Lakers.  Team Trigger's program consisted of 5-10 colors of lead core with Church Tackle TX-22 planer boards to open the spread along with 2 riggers.  Stinger Modified Dolphins & Dang were the colors that did the damage.  The Lakers were definitely hungry as 12 trout were boated in the first 2 hours of the tournament.  The Lakers ranged from 6-12 lbs.  The crew quickly switched to a Coho program to finish the limit.

Team Trigger ended up with 87 points out scoring Wild at Heart with 80.2 pts.  Shrek 2 had 76.4 points and also captured a 14.6 lb King to take home the big fish prize.

Great job guys!!!!

April 2011: Email 1: Congrats to Captain Mike and crew on the Striker. This Friday evening Charter Mike's client, Matt Reel from Fort Atkinson captured this “behemoth, Slobosaurous Brown Trouties Rex”, aka HUGE Brown Trout, which weighed in at 34.16 pounds on the certified scale at Brossman’s Meat Market here in Racine a few hours after she was landed. It may very well be the top ten largest Browns ever taken in the world, two of which were taken right here in Racine just a few miles north of the harbor. Mike's client's fish came in 44 feet of water on a black and silver shallow crankbait on Mason  2 color leadcore (18lb) with a 17lb Seaguar Flourocarbon leader behind a Church Tackle Walleye Board. The epic fight lasted about 30 minutes and ended with one happy client and a smile for the rest of the crew. The Dotline Salmon net and 1st mate Jim did the job. Nice Job Guys!

 Coho Bob

Email 2: CONFIRMED>>> It is official this is a Line Class World Record!

Way to Go Matt Reel!!!!

September 2010: Check out this quote from Dave Mull, Editor of Great Lakes Angler Magazine: Had a fantastic trip with Coho Bob Lausman and Joel DeVries aboard Joel's 28-foot Scout center console "Fin Scout" on Friday out of St. Joe, Michigan, testing out Church's new TX-44 planer board. It's the biggest in the line-up, and on a day with 3- and 4-foot waves, it did some pretty remarkable things. Two in particular: Took the large, mag-size 124 Walker Deeper Diver (the same size as the Mag Dipsy with a big ring) out to the side and kept it in formation with more standard copper lines. It also did the same plane-out with 300 feet of 30-pound copper, which had a 12-ounce Stinger Dive Bomb in the middle. This was the hot rod, catching most of the 5 lakers and 2 small kings we ended up with. Spoons ruled, and we ran out 14 miles to find fish.

Customer Fish Photos, Stories, & Advice

December 2010 Fish Tail Winners Nick and Keith Haven of Avon Lake Ohio !

Love your Walleye Boards. They pull well when pulling deep diving cranks or worm harnesses. I had my boys out on Lake Erie this summer and  caught a few walleye. My 5 yr. old son Nick reeled in this eye after hooking it on a worm harness behind one of your boards. boards.  We use      your boards for both day and night fishing and they are tough and consistent. Thanks for making a great product.

Keith Haven

Here was the response we received from Keith after we informed him that he and his were our winners:

That's outstanding! Thank You very much. My son Nick will be very excited. He compares all the fish we see on TV to the fish he caught that day. Your boards were a big part of it and hopefully will continue to help us get on the big fish!

November 2010 Fish Tail Winner: Elmer Rudlaff of Troy Michigan!

Elmer Rudlaff fished Lake Erie on November 12th  and 13th. He caught 15 Walleye with an average weight of 8 pounds

on day 1 and 7 pounds on day 2. The big fish of the trip was 10 pounds.

Elmer says, "...we trolled with Church Tackle Flex Clip trolling weights ... and Dual Planer Board Clips..., that worked great."

October 2010 Fish Tail Winner: David C. Anderson of Grand Rapids Michigan!

Here is a picture of a nice sized King Salmon that we had taken back in mid July, while fishing out off the port of Onekema, Mi. We were fishing on my friend’s 33 ft. Sea Ray Express Cruiser. Because the (3) downriggers were not producing anything and, after a couple of hours of trolling with no fish, we had to change out our tactics and it was decided that it was time to put 150 ft. and 300 ft. copper rigs out. The salmon seemed to be very finicky that particular morning. Teaming up the rigs with Stinger Stingrays Monkey Puke spoons and, pulled the lines on Church Tackle, “Walleye Boards”. Those clips never had any slippage during the entire time that we had the copper rigs out.

We were experiencing a fairly stiff Nor’Easter wind that day, making it very choppy for our conditions on the big lake. Although, had we not put those copper rigs out on boards, we never would have caught our fish.

May 2010 Fish Tail Winner... Casey Gibson of Dowagiac Michigan!

This is my 1st year of running copper so it is new to me and my partner. The day before on 5-2-10 we go out and try our new copper, we let all of our copper out and clip our boards on, which was a different brand than Church’s. We try to let out our copper and it just runs behind the boat, so I call one of my buddies to ask what I am doing wrong, he proceeds to tell me that I have the wrong brand of boards.  I couldn't believe it would make that much of a difference, but I take his word for it. I get out of work early on 5-3-10, my partner Dr. Carlton Lyons meets me at the launch, I told him I have to run over to Tackle Haven and pick up some new boards. So we run over there and pick up a pair of the TX-22’s. We get on the water and Doc is assembling the boards as we head down the river. We make it out to 165 fow on a 300 heading and start setting poles. I couldn’t wait to run these new TX-22 boards, so I let all the copper out like the day before, clip the board on, the board takes of to the side like it isn’t pulling anything, amazing!! I was truly scared of loosing a board fishing for salmon, because I know the "other brand"  I had used would pop off all the time fishing for Walleyes. The connection point on the TX-22 is flawless, there is no way they can come off. So Doc reeled in the 1st screamer which was close to 18 lbs, which came on a Dreamweaver sos spoon. The next fish was mine, and it was very close to being the same as Docs, except his was close to being a ½ lb bigger than mine. So I told him that we should take a picture of both fish so people didn’t think we were taking a picture of the same fish!! LOL. We ended our day 2pm-8pm catching 6 Coho’s and 4 Kings in 135 -165 fow just south of the piers in St.Joe. Thanks for making such a awesome product.

April 2010 Fish Tail Winner.... Bert Herriman of Alpena Michigan!

2 weeks ago; April 17th me and a couple buddies went out in the cold to try and catch few Atlantic Salmon, we ran mono behind Church Walleye Boards and stickbaits, inside boards are three colors of leadcore with spoons attached. Well after a few hrs of unsuccessful Atlantic Salmon fishing we decided to down size and try closer to shore. So we snuck up into 12 ft water downsized our tackle to 6 lb test, mini church boards (TX-6) , and small blue and silver thundersticks. About 20 mins into troll I hooked this monster Lake Trout and successfully, as you can see, landed him. After a few pics and huge smiles, we let him swim and reloaded our arsenal, was shortly after we caught one just a bit smaller.
